A couple pieces to the puzzle arrived. Got my new used manifold. The schrader valves showed up so I can finish making the pressure tester, and picked up some make a gasket to cut for the pressure tester against the manifold. Still waiting on my parts order from S&S. Should be here mid week but I have to work all weekend.
I didn't read this whole thread but here is what fixed my idling issues on the Super E Shorty. I pulled the enriched shot ir w brake cleaner hit it w air then fired it up after reassembly. A large cloud of **** blew out of my pipes n now she purrs like a kitten, night n day difference like new!! Good luck.
This process helped my off idle stumble but it still just randomly stalls. I am going to try and switch back to the loaner advance and see if that helps if not I will be purchasing a new dyna 2ki ignition and maybe borrowing the offered afr meter. I did make a little bit of progress
My guess. Less it has already been mentioned is a torque tolerance issue somewhere that develops when the engine is warm/hot and gaps widen.
Don’t have a clue what parts need to be addressed for it. Talked to an INDY. And he gave me that’s an all trial and error issue that is gonna cost you big haha. Screw that.
bike runs great regardless.
Man Jason, I wish I had your bike ride here so I can help you out in person dude. I know it's frustrating but there's got to be something simple about all this ****.. try the complete ignition system and set it to light off at TDC and go from there all right and let's see what happens...
As promised here is a video. It is running now with a new mechanical advance. It doesn't hesitate off of idle anymore since I fixed the intake leak. What it does still do is hang up the revs when coming back to idle. It hasn't stalled on me anymore.
I got it hot and checked the intake seals for leaks with propane and a tube. No leaks detected. If it is hanging and I adjust the idle adjuster screw down it will straighten out. But if I give her gas again she does this. Listen to what it sounds like
On that S&S intake, you have a port there for your VOES switch right? Disconnect the VOES switch from the intake and hook your propane bottle to that same port on the intake. Start your bike let it idle hot engine. It might be a little low because at idle the VOES switch is at high vacuum which means it's at full advance so will idle a little higher normally but when you disconnect it it won't. So with the bike running at idle I want you to crack the propane valve and monitor what happens to the idle speed. If the idol tends to go up you are running lean if the idle goes down you are running rich, and you will have to make those adjustments to the idle mixer screw to compensate for that. Other than that I really don't see a lot wrong with the way it is right now unless you have throttle cables that are just a tad tight or something. Judging by your video it seems to be pretty good..
