I need help figuring out why my battery keeps draining? Anyone please help
I have a 1999 fat boy softail that runs great but the battery has been dying quickly. I just bought a new one and its starting fine but I know its going.to keep happening. Any ideas on what it could be?

how old was the old battery? If it's hit 3 yrs it will start deteriorating. How is the bike stored? inside? Outside? Heat will kill a battery faster than cold. Do you have anything that puts a constant, slow drain on the battery? Clock, etc?

If after testing you find the bike is not charging, likely just the voltage regulator. Good luck.

my 99 FLSTC does the same---I have to disconnect the VR every time I stop for any period of time...like overnite. I put up with it. My indies can't fix it---I'll keep subscribed to this..........

On my 1996 I had a battery draining problem for a couple of years, if it sat for more than a couple of days, it had to go onto the battery tender, the battery was fairly new so I thought it couldn't be the battery. I finally bought a new battery, and no more problem with the battery. It sat all winter and still fired up with ease.
