Sometimes loosening exhaust mounting points.
Then
Disconnecting top motor mount.
Then
Removing bottom front motor mount and allowing motor to drop forward while supported by a small jack gives you some extra room on a touring bike.
That along with allen/hex piece and sears carb wrench
At least it helped on a 98 road king.

That's what we do with FXR'S, too. Dropping the front motor mount makes the job much easier.

I keep a separate tool box filled w/ cut off wrenches,Allen keys,used bearing races and all the misc. Harley tools etc.I’ll mark them for what they’re good for.

On my ‘96 Dyna I disconnect the top motor mount. The engine can then be pulled over By hand far enough to get the bolt out, and back in with access for a torque wrench.
