Replacing Head Gasket question
Hello all,
I'm planning on replacing my front head gasket this winter.
Do you have to pull the intake manifold completely off over does the head slip right off?
Also, pushrods can be pulled from the top and will bleed down when reinstalling? No need for top dead center lining up etc. ?
Thanks for any comments

What bike? Pull the intake, it's not that big of a job. Practically a nothing-burger, like the Russian hoax. If all you're doing is replacing the headgasket (why?), then yes, the pushrods come out from the top and the lifters will bleed down on their own and there's nothing to line up. I'll just leave this photo of me here.

Intake needs to come off. What type of pushrods are they? Adjustable or solids? If solids keep them in same location (intake vs exhaust), use factory gaskets and you'll be fine. If adjustables then any quality gasket and set up via tdc and bleeddown correctly.
You cats are not advocating removing rockers at anything But Compression stroke on that Cyl. are Ya
That's the way I go Back together also!! and I only use adjustables in an Odd or Emergency situation... No sense if the top is coming off anyway!!
Finally I do Not see any way one could remove a Head without removing the Intake!!!

I agree with the others solid advice....
I would like to add....if you’re replacing the head gasket. I would replace the base gasket also. You’re already there labor wise and removing the head may disrupt the old base gasket.
If you don’t replace the base gasket....good chance you’ll have a leaker.

Especially if they're the OEM base gaskets. That's what the rest of the seals and gaskets you might as well do the whole top and push rod tubes intake seals and the other cylinder Don't just do half a job. I say that because you didn't list the year and mileage..
