For sure you should use the late model spacer, quad seal, oil seal, pulley, lock plate.

If you are using the shift drum from an `05, you also need to use the `05 shift shaft/pawl (I highly recommend using the late model shifter drum and pawl, your shifting will be much improved).

If using the late model shift shaft/pawl you must either replace the bushing in the case with the later model bushing, or use a spacer.

Shifter shaft bushing P/N 34979-00

Removal and installation tool: Jims #1664

I was thinking the same thing, but based on the pic the OP posted, to late...however, if has not installed anything yet, I would say switch it out. Now is a perfect time to pull the trap door again and swap it out, can even use low mileage parts from fleabay (like I did).

I’m using the a Bakers pawl and drum. I figured it was a good time to replace them while I had everything apart.

Yeah the OP and I had talked about the benefits of the newer style shift drum, better shifting and easer to find neutral, and he went with the Bakers pawl and drum set up

Good deal, your gonna like how it shifts, but it will take just a little getting used to. It just drops into the next gear with one click. No more over travel. YD
