This was under the rotor:

It is 0.100" thick.

There's no telling what rotor/stator is on there. Probably something cheap, if I had to guess. I see no "Harley-Davidson" stamped on it, just "don't be beatin' on dit ting with no hamma."

Measuring off the primary chain offset like the book says is where I got that the chain is like 1/4" too far in at the front versus the back. At the clutch hub, the chain runs right at the level of the inner primary. At the compensator, it is about 1/4" in. Needless to say, this appears to have been 'somewhat' hard on the chain. I think I can still use it, but it probably has like 50K miles worth of wear on it now. Of course, no guarantee it was new either.

Could the rotor be 1/4" too thin? This one is 0.175" thick.

That looks exactly like my stock rotor, 3 holes, thin stamped numbers and all. I never did get around to measure my original spacers today.

I can post part numbers for the spacers (either side) but I think they are all discontinued except in aftermarket "kits." Dealer "might" have some laying around, but you know what they say about mites......

The smaller OD spacer goes inboard of the rotor (regardless of thickness) and later 3 phase and twinkie rotors are a LOT thicker.

Here is an extended compensator nut, if you have room between the outer primary cover, might help if you get it spaced out and need more thread engagement?https://www.ebay.com/itm/22308657021...RoC_lMQAvD_BwE

You can see on my bike I have a pretty large spacer washer under the shaft extension

Up until 90 the rotor had a 1/4" spacer made onto the rotor...91 up do not...is the reason for the 2 different length shaft extentions...aftermarket rotors have the spacer seperate...so they will work on eithier setup...

So, all the parts look right?

On closer inspection, the stator has a HD and D60102 stamped on it although 6 might be something else, it's fuzzy. The rotor has a stamp that is somewhat incomplete, but "Harley-Davidson" and "32 AMP" are visible. The rotor does not look like it has been hitting anything. Looks good, actually, besides some steel dust here and there.

The front sprocket is definitly about 1/4" too far in. If it is the right parts as far as spacers and the extension, could the sprocket be wrong? Do they make different "thickness" sprockets? Otherwise, I'm thinking I need an extra 1/4" spacer behind the extension.

Here's a set of spacers:

Looks like I can mix and match between those and what I have and get an extra quarter inch out of it.

If rotor has HD 32 amp stamped on it, that's definitely aftermarket!

Yeah put something thicker behind the rotor and that kit will work for you.

Here's the rotor and stator markings:

They kinda look MoCo to me.

I'm thinking: If the rotor was on there with the existing spacer and not wiping anything out, if I get that kit and put it on the outside of the rotor, then the thick spacer I have, then the extension, I should be able to get it out a quarter inch.
