Was running fine with a slight tick.....but that was all.
Thing is....he really brought the bike in for a cam upgrade. Now all this....

That slight tick was fixing to be a banging noise for sure.
In the middle 70's IIRC Chevy ended up doing a recall of sorts. Car came in with a funny bumping sound in the motor.
The boss told me start tearing it down till we found something. Got to the crankshaft and lifted the crank out in 2 pieces. It was split under the middle journal.
Chevy paid to put alot of crankshafts in during that, some trashed and some got drove into the stalls.
I meant to add this picture of the lifter with the earlier one. The one that’s screwed up came out of broken piece of the lifter block. It’s seen better days.
