Learn something new everyday.
Darndest thing. I do not understand how that brake pad could come loose and get through the narrow opening between the caliper and the rotor. It seems impossible but it did. I heard it hit the underside of the fender. Inspection shows the fiber pad/puck actually separated from the metal backing. I'd a never thunk it. Oh well live and learn. I'm lookin at it and still can't see how it got out of there. Ya can't drive a bus through a needle hole. I'm happy the caliper piston didn't pop out. Its all good.

Seen the old drum brake shoes loose the lining, had a BSA do it. Cheapy import swap meet pads were another offender for it.

Default lost brake pad

I sure hope EBC brake pads aren't made in China or Taiwan. If they are I'm gonna be totally Pi---- about it. No sense or reason for that to be.

Those pads were new and EBC. Been using that brand forever with no problem. I will add that the rotor was not hot so I don't know what would affect the bonding material for the fiber. Oh well. Try another set.

A new chrome front end, billet wheels, chrome floating rotors and new pads again will go on that old girl this winter. So just tryin to stay safe and reliable for the rest of the year.

You Might Send the Backing Plate Back to EBC, If I gave a Crap about my product, I would want to See a failure.... Hell, They might send you a new set! Then again, We live in a Brave new world.
