She is always full of surprises. Frame was cracked under the seat. That is welding or should I say grinding I can do! Due to lighting I didn't realize I used a brown tint paint until after I took the pictures. Seat hides it so I'm fine.
Exhaust was on it's last leg. The Chinese tip I bought was never a very good fit. It eventually rattled long enough to damaged the pipe. I JB welded it for a couple of test rides but ended up getting a new Supertrapp Supermeg 2 into 1. It changed the way the bike ran. The disks and closed end cap sounded awful compared to what I was running. I only had a 10 min test run on this setup. I removed all disks and end cap and sound was acceptable. I ran this way for a little bit but she was stumbling. I was guessing running rich so I made some carb adjustments. My first time messing with a carb. Thought I needed to change jets but I was waiting on an open end cap from Supertrapp before I took that step. Open end cap seems to run great. Not sure how but it seemed to be working perfect... My last test ride was cut short and I haven't had her back out over the past week. More to come.
Some updates. I spent about 3 months of summer with her on the lift trying to figure out an electrical problem. Turned out 2 brand new solenoids were the culprit. Got that squared away and switched to the lever style plunger and relocated the solenoid switch to the tool box. She starts but struggles to start. I had the battery tested 3 or 4 times during troubleshooting but I know I now need to test it again for process of elimination. Starter may be damaged. It put out some smoke a couple of times during this whole ordeal. I had it out of the bike at one point and it seemed to spin fine but it may have lost some umph under load. So I decided first thing I should do is change the exhaust I tried really hard to like the 2 into 1 but at the end of the day she's just too ornery to be soft spoken. I really happy so far with the Vance & Hines. I can't tell any difference in performance but the sound is 100x better. Idle sounds phenomenal.

LMAO!!!
A little smoke from the starter usually isn't good.
