Thanks man. I installed this forward relocation kit. Much better. It moves the controls back a little over an inch. I had to use the stock brake lever, the one supplied was too long. I'm happy with the results and at this point do not plan on switching to mids.
My buddy is painting a new front fender for me. I think it'll top it off well. I got some rear turn signal mounting bolts, plug wires, and a new fuel and air filter on the way.
Just my opinion, but I think it looks good without a fender.
Yeah I rode an 05 Super Glide for a while without a front fender. Between surprise rain storms and road pebbles I put the fender back on after a couple months.
I have a whole "Live to Ride" kit that came off the "09 Ultra I bought in 2016 with 2,500 miles on it, not much living there.
Derby, fuel door, cam cover, air cleaner and tail light covers, also mirrors, free to who ever wants them.
Live to Ride Ride to Live stuff will now reside on the garage wall
1st thing I take off when I buy a bike, bought a few Garage Queens like that.

I guess it's an Era type thing. My 77 FXE had the norm, gas caps, Derby's, cam cover, sissy bar but it kind of went with that bike.. I left them on, I liked them...

I ran my old sporty for years without a front fender. I love the look. But also don't like being stuck in the rain. That rooster tail straight into the face sucks! We'll see how it looks on her.

It's definitely an era thing. I have nothing against it, it was cool back in the day, but now its watered down. They will look great hanging up in the garage. I'll be taking off the derby cover (got a stock chrome one waiting) when I get a chance to change primary fluid.

LOL, I remember that they were popular back in the 70's and 80's, but back then we rode the $#!T out of our bikes, they didn't sit in the garage.
Thanks guys, after some research I see these Evo's are extremely cold blooded. Very different from a fuel injected sporty. I've been using the enricher to maintain idle while cold, just wanted to make sure I was doing it right. And yes, it's a S&S. She idles real low when cold, sounds great but not so good for her. Thanks for the advice! I'll get that carb dialed in this weekend.
Also, I notice she smells got a strong gas smell after sitting in the garage. I plan on replacing the fuel filter but is this normal for Evo's? I also have fuel dumped on the ground during start up.
I had a 94 WG w/stock CV carb and never noticed any fuel smell but this Heritage with the S&S carb does. Maybe just something inherent with them?

@Schex posted some info on the leaky S&S. I still haven't fixed mine yet, I'm gonna try to get to it Sunday. I found this good YouTube video for S&S super E clean up.
