He is going from a butterfly to a CV. The cable bracket is on the forward side opposite from the butterfly cab and a totally different animal.
The exposed cable-to-housing length is about 3/4" longer on the pull side for the CV. You can cut down the housing of the original cables and make them work, but it's not worth the effort since the cables are already "relaxed" in the original position and are subject to bind when re-routed for the CV.
The linkage I'm refering too is just the part that holds the cables, it doesn't connect the the
CV gate or the butterfly directly, it mounts to the carb body. 2 screws, same location.
