Changed the entire brake light assembly to an aftermarket and just the bulb in the bottom running light. I will check the brake light switch.

In order to sometimes get the most useful information....
What does entire brake light assembly mean to you?
What does bottom running light mean to you?
We can not see the bike and have no clue if the motorcycle is a custom, factory original or if this was a rebuilt motorcycle.
A picture alone may not be enough.
Keep in mind that some individuals have changed their single filament factory flat lens rear turn signals to dual filament 1157.
Some have installed a run/turn/brake module in order to control rear lighting.
If something was changed to aftermarket then an exact product name and item number might also help when sharing information.
Others have changed the factory tail light too.
Wish you luck in your search for a solution..
Check front brake switch and review switch clamp at bar for wire damage.
The wire bundle under rear fender can get damaged too if someone lowered the rear of bike since that can allow rear tire to scrub against wires.
Perhaps a parts finder will help you when trying to identify parts for others.

I believe the light assembly ( mount, lens, and internals-all solid state) are for an 03. And everything worked perfectly when first installed. Bike is stock ride hight. Visual inspection shows no damage to the harness under the fender. I disconnected rear harness and it has no effect on the other lighting problem. Why are the lights going off with the Accy locked fuse in place? What is the purpose of that circuit? I'm going to pull the fairing this afternoon, and will be checking the brake light switch.

The accessory circuit provides power for the horn, turn signals, brake lamp, rear fender tip lamp, among other things.

It would be best to start a new post for your problems.
As a suggestion, review inside of tank for trash like tank liner blocking fuel inlet.

Been a while since I posted this thread, found the problem after a lengthy search to be a corroded pin in one of the harness plugs. Had nothing at all to do with the changes I made to the lights.
