Just picked up a decent condition 1986 flhtc.
from what I gather that makes it an Electraglide? But the guy I got it from said it has a road king front end? Why would this have been done. Other then that, s/s carb, Vance and Hines pipes, clean bike.
Yes, Roadking front end, Fuel tank has been changed to a later model because it should have the squared off tank. Looks like no speedo is on the bike because of the different items changed so far from a OEM bike but made it easier on the eyes.
You can put a new set of handlebars on it and see how the cables fit, looks like they have some high dollars ones on it, new urethane bushings with the new bars, they are cheap. Overall a good looking machine and a Evo platform is tough as nails but will always need some TLC, the return a older bike will give back is hard to explain unless you own one.

Really, what tank do you think it is? I took the seat off tinkering today and saw that the rear of the tank is not secured to the frame and Im trying to figure out what I need to secure it. Its just resting on the frame.
good news though, new battery, and gas in a spray bottle and she fired right up and kept running so long as fuel was being sprayed into the carb. I started in on the carb and it is filthy and sticky with sludge. Pulled the carb off (s and s super e, and ordered a rebuild kit. First motorcycle carb rebuild, but not new to carbs at all.
