Lowering shock recomendations
I'm looking to lower my 94 Road King by a inch or two. Any recommendations on a decent shock? I still have the original factory air shocks on the rear. I would also like to lower it at the same time.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Would get a lower seat, before you go after the suspension to lower the bike that way.
Hence can do lowering inserts in the fork, as well get 12" rear shocks (stock are 13"), but since you have less suspension travel in the end, just makes for a rougher ride.

Many years ago, I lowered the front and rear suspension 1 inch on my 1995 Road King. I can tell you from my first-hand experience, don’t do it. As noted above, the ride became rough and harsh. Hard parts will contact the road at not much of a lean angle. This summer I am going to bring both ends of the bike back up to stock height. While it may no longer have “the look”, I’m looking forward to better handling and a much more compliant ride.

Scraping boards at the slightest lean, harsh and uncomfortable ride quality. I would never lower a Touring bike after owning that one. I mean, the whole point of a bagger is comfort, and lowering the suspension just decreases the comfort level to me.
