Good luck and I hope you get to ride soon. Don't go back to the first harley repair shop you went to.&nbsp\\;Could have been a new motor instead of heads, cam and lifters.

Hey Goat,
Thanks for the luck. Have three Harley shops in the area, spent enough money with all three to be a full partner. They all lie to get your business and fix what don't need fixed and what needed fixed they say it's ok, a bunch of parts changers. After the sale they forget who you are.
You spend big bucks for parts, and chrome that peals faster than aftermarket.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Rant rant Rant........enough said
&nbsp\\;
Still love my ol dresser, just gettin to old to crawl around her. Just want to ride.

I got a few more miles on the 127&nbsp\\;last&nbsp\\;time home&nbsp\\;and it's running sweet but still the valve train is noisy even with the Vthunder lifters and pushrods. Get home from Algeria next week.&nbsp\\;Any one with a 127 thats quiet as Ultima said it's noisy because of the cam profile and the stiff springs?&nbsp\\;

TD, It is typical with any dealer. Take your money and see you later.

Classic,&nbsp\\;Noise is typical of all Stroker motors.&nbsp\\;Put a loud exhaust on it and you will never hear it.&nbsp\\;

Paco,
&nbsp\\;
It's a little over 40 mile away.....Had to go that far to find someone good.
He ordered the heads last week, thought they would be here the first of this week.
So I hope they came in, I might go up there tonight, depends. Went with the bigger valve heads with all the lil do dads in the ports to make em flow better. not sure which cam he was going to put in, I think we were going with Comp, for heavy bikes, let you know later for sure.
&nbsp\\;
Lots of stories behind the 96 Ultima, turns out this motor had stock harley heads, stock harley lifters and cam, was supposed to be a hundred horse motor, when I first put it in I thought it was pretty sluggish, so I had it dinoed at the local Harley shop. Only got 69 Horse and 85 foot pounds of torque.&nbsp\\; Bottom line ....GOT SCREWED AGAIN, kinda getting tired of this stuff.&nbsp\\; My fault for not&nbsp\\;being more knowledgeable, and just taking someones word for what it was.
Ya see I bought this motor when my 90 Harley motor was broke and it was a quick move. The guy told me he knew this guy thart had a 96 in Ultima and needed money. that I could purchase for the same price that it would take to send my Motor back to harley.&nbsp\\; Well, all I could see was a so called built motor from Ultima, forged pistons etc. So it was supposed to be (new) but I would be the second owner. I think you can color the rest in.&nbsp\\; TD

fergy,
&nbsp\\;
i really don't seem to have that much noise in my engine.&nbsp\\; no more than an old evo would have. i often wonder if the noise is amplified by the fairing.&nbsp\\; reason being some days it sounds louder than others.&nbsp\\; done a short 400 mile weekend&nbsp\\;around alabama and georgia.&nbsp\\; one day quiet as a mouse the next noisey as he!!.&nbsp\\; i don't know and really don't worry about it any more .&nbsp\\; I am coming up on 7500 miles on the engine and have had no issues with the motor so far.&nbsp\\; knock on wood. i also wonder if the BIG inchers make more valve train noise than my smaller 107".&nbsp\\; if yall have any more fun with your biguns than i do with my littleun i probably couldn't stand it !!!
&nbsp\\;
