Does anybody know anything about swing arm bushings. Seems there are three differenf types availble. The stock liquid filled, nylon or neoprene and bearing type with spacers that press in. I had to take the trans case off and noticed the LS bushing leaking liquid. These are stock type and only two or three years old. Maybe the 120 is a little too much for the stock style bushings? Engine now has about 4000 miles. Haven't started to time or jet yet. It is rich and sounds like mor advance is in order. It still runs strong just the way it came out of the box.

My 107, had some backfiring, and when they Dyno'd it they found the HP, and Tque waaay down than what it was rated. So they went back and adjusted the timing. This fixed the slight backfiring and increased the hp and tqu a lot.

BB - do yourself a favor and get a True-Track Trackula kit to replace those POS silicone-filled clevebloc H-D swingarm bushings. It has both the stabilizer the bolts to the tranny and the frame cross member; and also solid metal (not plastic) replacement swingarm bushings, new pivot rod, new rubber isolators, and a new (new style) front motor mount. The TT solid bushings don't need any spacers, either - they fill the entire space by themselves. The TT Trackula kit is not cheap, but it's worth every penny in my opinion. They give a HDF member discount if you call them. I paid $689 for my kit.

I put the Trackula kit on my bike recently, and the difference in handling is nothing short of amazing! What used to be a sloppy, floating ride is now rock-solid. My bike now tracks straight and true, and I can lean right into corners and not feel like the bike is going to lose it. Feels like a sportbike compared to before...

Hey my friends,

I am going to replace my lifters (tappets). My motor had a lot of valve train noise that was not normal for this motor. Found the front 2 tappets just about gone and the back one are on their way. about 25000 miles on the motor. Anyway, i want to replace them. what would you guys recommend as replacement tappets ? i am going to call Jerih today. Jims are wayyy out of my price. Crane are high but i may go with them or screaming eagle ? Jerih doesnt offer a big selection, crane being next after Jims. I dont know if harley even makes SE tappets.

Help me out guys .

later.......................

Had mine on for over two years now and it transformed the bike. No turning back!

I know at one time Ultima was using Johnson lifters (they make the stock harley and stock GM lifters) but I believe some have changed over to the Andrews or Crane lifters which I understand work better. I put in the S&S lifters but still have noise so the Crane might be a better choice.

Well, I've got 50,000 miles and no complaints on my Crane lifters, with an EV13 cam and SE pushrods. But they are pricey; think they were $50 ea? six years ago. I know they only charge about $12 each for the same chevy lifters as the identical $50 Twin Cam lifters, but never found automotive lifters cross-referenced to the Evo lifters.

Not sure exactly what bike you have. but I installed the CCE kit in my 93 FXR. Absolutely the best money I ever spent. TV150VEJ (Rufus), followed my advice, researched and installed the CCE kit in his bike as well and is very pleased with the results. IMO, the sealed bearings are much better than nylon or Delrin. That is for you to decide, but I can tell you my bike is rock solid and runs like she's on rails at over 120mph. Been there and done that several times!!
