No need to apologize. Get it fixed and let us know how it goes. I know you haven't much time on the bike but how does the tranny feel to you? I have thought about buying the 6 speed but my tranny does a great job.

JJB1,
Well i am glad it wasn't your trans. I read your post Fri. right before i left work and been woundering about it until just now. I have been out of town and just got home. Hope you get it fixed soon. I really like my motor and trans. motor has 4500 miles and trans at 1000 miles. have had no issues with either.

Goat,
If you do a lot of interstate or long straight runs you would love the 6 gear, but if not, you would be like me, i have itbut don't use it that much. I don't know if the gear ratioare different between the stock5 gearsand the first 5 of the Ultima, but my bike rippes up to red line real quick with the Ultima. I really don't remember how it was with the stock tranny. still have not fixed the primary leak after 3 attemps. Zippers performance sells a primary bearing and seal that I am thinking about. haven't made up my mine yet. I hate for a simple seal to kick my a$$.

Hey Paco,
Those of us that are running 6 speeds in our (pre 94 bikes are geared a lil bit lower, 1.54)than those (94 and up, 1.44)in the primarygearing.

Which helps use 6th gear a little sooner.

Tom

Paco, How is the throttle response? Did you remove the voes completely? I have an Andrews 5 speed in my bike and the SOB rips in every gear. I was out on it this weekend, still friggin cold but f&*k it, and I gave it quite a few good twists of the throttle. I don't ride many highways so I will leave the 5 speed in until I have some problems.

Have a good one Paco!

Between the 5 spd and the Ultima 6 I notice a little diff but not too much...but I was running an oversized andrews pulley on the 5...I do know that the Ultima seems to have low gears but still cruises 70 as a sweet spot

Goat,

I can't tell any difference in the throttle response. It rips up quick and runs strong. 6th is pretty tricky for me, not being use to it. i was running about 75 mph on the way home. there is a pretty long hill about 3 miles from the house. at the bottom of the hill i pasted 3 cars, i didn't think about being in 6th so i just rolled on the throttle and it sounded like i dumped a sack of marbles in the top end. I quickly shifted into 5th and was up to 100 and at the top of the hill before i knew it. moral of the story : if i am going to past on ahill i will down shift before i turn her loose!

Glad to hear you got that all taken care of and you are enjoying it. The frozen weather broke this week and I got out yesterday for 150 miles of good riding. Glad it is finally here.

Have a good weekend Paco and JJB1

Congratulations JJB1. That bike deserves 1st place. Looks great!! Thanks for the pics of that fatboy. Sharp looking fatty. What type of hard mounts did you use for your saddlebags? I just did mine over the weekend. I had over the fender but it didn't work out quite so good. So I went and bought Ghost Brackets and they mad a hell of a difference.
