Hey Goat, can you use your stock horn placement on the Ultima?
I was speaking to a tech at Jireh, and he said that due to the tight fit, that the horn placement on a stock 80 motor would not probably be able to fit on an Ultima, as it goes real close to the coil. In fact a guy that I know that has an ultima has his coil mounted on the horn mount. If I'm not mistaken don't you?
Just wondering, as having a horn is important to me, and I have an mini beast air horn, and am not afraid to use it either. LOLOL!!
Yep there it is. I see that cowbell now. Musta just blended in before, either than or it was still too early for me. LOL!!! That's a dual fire coil then or single?
Well I am about to join the Ultima Club. I just purchased a 127 El Bruto, a 3 1/2 belt primary and 6 speed tranny. Got the works all brand new for 4200 from a guy going through a divorce. I think this is a pretty good deal. Anyway, going to be installing in 97 Ultra. Ultima lists the 127 as only 1/8" taller than stock and I have about 5/8" above the EVO for room. I will take tons of pics and write up the steps as I install everything. The bad news is that I am in the military and I may be leaving on the 21st, so that doesn't leave me but a week to get this done, and I don't want to rush it. It may wait until Nov when I return. Anyone have any pointers/tips for me before I get started?
Make sure you prime the oil system properly before starting it up, then take your time and break it in easy short trips only as it says in the manual. I have about 10,000 on my 127 now and it's running sweet. It comes with a 185 main jet which is way too large but probably ok for break in. The first time I opened it up past 4500 rpm it almost quit from being too rich. Also the low speed jet was too lean.
