this is what is in the ultima manual I would suggest you talk directly to ultima. The 127 fit without any problems in my 1995 FLSTN but as it said I had to build a spacer to mount the coil in the stock location. On a rubber mounted motor I am not sure what problems you might run in to as it is a tight fit but didn't have to grind anything.
Installation Notes:
UltimaŽ Engines should be installed by trained professional mechanics into motorcycle in which they were intended for use. Failure to do so
may result in injury and even death. It is the customer’s responsibility to insure their mechanic has proper training.
Fitment and Clearance Issues:
Every effort has been made to insure these engines will install into most available frame models without modifications. Some of the known
fitment issues we have encountered are listed below. Please read these carefully as they will aid in installation.
Fitment Issues: All Crank Cases
1. UltimaŽ crank cases are designed to fit most OEM motorcycles built from 1984-1999 using EvolutionŽ style engines. On rubber mounted
engines please check that the front engine mount bracket weld or tab does not interfere with the case before final torque of the engine
mount bolts — clearance the bracket if needed.
2. On most FXR or bikes using midshift controls it may be necessary to clearance case for the inner shift arm.
Fitment Issues: Cylinder 100-107-113-120-127 Ci
1. On some frames using offset engines and forward controls it may be necessary to space the inner shift arm or the shifter mounting bracket
away from the front cylinder fins to provide adequate clearance between the shift arm or rod and the cylinder fins.
Fitment Issues: Cylinder Heads 100-107-113-120-127 Ci
1. If installing these engines into a Stock Style SoftailŽ type frames it will be necessary to relocate the coil and bracket.
Fitment Issues: All 130 & 140 Ci
1. The UltimaŽ 130 Ci and 140 Ci engines are over 5/8” taller than a stock engine. These engines will fit in most UltimaŽ frames but other
aftermarket manufactured frames must be checked for fitment. All fitment issues for 100 Ci thru 127 Ci engines apply to the 130 Ci and 140 Ci.
The UltimaŽ 130 Ci and 140 Ci will require VERY heavy duty drive train components.
Well the only bad thing I have to report is the ignition let go in my 113". I have put in Crane HI4 ignition and things are a lot better. It will be heading back to the dyno as I can now adjust the rev limiter. I will give it one run and set it back to 5500 to save me from killing it. : )
On a 120 that we put in a '95 FLHTC we had to shim the rear of the tank up 3/4" and trim the top inside of the air cleaner shell to clear the tank. Took it out today for the first long shakedown ride (280 miles) ran great and got better as the miles were logged on it. No problems with the six speed, shifted up and down like butter, neutral easy to find, very slight whine in fourth gear but nothing extreme.
We were ridding in the Adirondacks and the engine pulled smoothly from 1800+ RPM's in all gears even on the inclines. No detonation we have the VOES hooked up and set an 7.5 inches of mercury and are running a 31 tooth Tranny sprocket. We will keep you all appraised as we get more miles on it.
The manual lists 3 plugs for the 127, if I remember (2) are discontinued, I bought some but can't find them, so I have to pick up another set, what are you 127 guys using and the gap please, mine came w/ hot plugs for a 113, don't seam to have any noticeable problems but need to change and may as well put the right ones in. Thanks
Had a lifter fail this week. Got it repaired and I am back up and running. Good news is Ultima is sending me 4 new lifters, gaskets, ignition and new push rods. I remember you guys asking about the push rods and they said they would send them out. They (Ultima)are very easy to deal with.

Would you have a phone number for them and who you were dealing with as my local dealer seems to not what to hear about anything negative. I put in the Vthunder lifters but that didn't change the noise at all.
Here you all are! Its taken me ages to find you! I went on vacation for a while, came back and found HDF all over the place! Having to learn my way round the site all over again. At least it looks as if some of the previous problems with it are fixed.
This topic started with a 107 and my S&S V107T is up to around 3,500 miles now. Seems every time I take it out it rains! Getting to run a bit better, but I wish it would stop vibrating around 3,000rpm. Now I am back home I have a few checks to make, to try to cure it (thanks John!).
