When was the last time you replaced the fuel line?
They rot out from the inside and send rubber bits into the float bowl.
You missed the fuel filter pictures. Fuel line was changed last year.

The tank needs to be properly cleaned, get rid of the inline filter.

I would not seal the tank after cleaning the rust out, keep the tank full when storing.

Tank screen was filled with junk too. Online fuel filter is just below the petcock and is EASILY accessible. Both filled with junk contributing to the reduced flow of gas.

Keeping the fuel filter and bought a dozen more. I should have been better on my maintenance of this area.

Inline filters are not inherently bad...with the caveat that you use one made for a motorcycle as the density of car ones is too much for a gravity feed system. I have used a motorcycle inline filter for decades, with no issues. They allow you to see what is coming out of your tank and keep that out of your float bowl.

Fuel injected Harleys have an inline filter in the tank.

Try cleaning a float bowl in the rain and dark beside a busy road...

Myself I am a firm believer in having a fuel filter, have always had one on my bike's.
Too much crap can get past fuel tap filter as shown in the OP pics, better to change the filter on the side of the road (that i have done) then not get home.
Use one or don't, each to there own.

Dave.

If you want to use an inline filter, it needs to be a strainer, meaning it has a fine metal or plastic screen, not a pleated paper element.
