Why? Are you saying the non-metal filter element doesn't work? I like the non-metal as I can see how dirty the filter is...and then do nothing about it and make my trip a PITA.

I think you misunderstood my post, I’m talking about the filter element.
Paper element filters will restrict flow on gravity fed fuel systems.
Screens will barely reduce flow, until it gets clogged if coarse, and you can actually clean the screen type’s, at least enough to restore flow. Spray and blow through it in reverse flow.
