replacement engine options?
With all these cheap replacements like Revtech,Ultima ,etc.... I am thinking.... But do any of them have a crank sensor hole? I am kinda partial to my fuel injection... (S&S VFI) 97 flhtci
i dont know man but i had a gen1 revtech 88 in my kenny boyce bike and it was amazing id go revtech in a heart beat again it made 90 horse and like 95ftlbs i beat the crap out of it i revlimitered it like a jap bike it would smoke 600 crotch rockets 0-100 and give my causins 1000 a run to 100 it was neck and neck with my buddies 107 s&s witch ill never buy his had 8000 all ready needed rebuild mine has 19k when i sold it and it still made 89.9rwhp and would rip the bike into a wheelie im a firm believer in rev techs
That is going to be a tough one, I know S&S is the only company that produces an Evo EFI crankshaft but do they offer the cranksensor hole in their case? They may be the only research source available. M ight have to 4 5/8 stroker your case to keep the EFI, mine (flywheel kit) took 3 weeks to get because they manufacture it per order.
Jireh Cycles is running a sale on their Ultima El Bruto engines. You can find them on Ebay or directly thru their website. S&S is also running a sale on some of their engines (I am considering the V111 for my '96 Road King). While the S&S is a bit higher priced I like the 3-year warranty and the parts availability.

Jims discontinued their Evo EFI crank so they can't put together a Evo efi engine, Ultima doesn't offer a Evo EFI crank so they can't put together a Evo EFI engine. S&S is the only aftermarket engine manufacturer that offers a EVO EFI crankshaft.

I have seen a lot of aftermarkets and have done o'hauls as well and if I was going to buy one the only way I would go is S&S ! The Quality is what is important to me and there quality is Great ! Along with that is Factory tech support & a great warranty too!

Websites like this one tend to collect the dirty stories about after market engines! There is enough here about Ultimas going wrong to put me off buying one, but I live in the UK, where the only substantial support is for S&S. If I lived in sight of Ultima and could knock on their door I might think differently about them.
Prior to buying my S&S V107T (replaced by their V111) I had a JIMS 89 inch stroker crank and other tuning mods to my original motor. I never had that dynoed, but it was quite strong compared with my 107. If you currently have a stock motor I suggest buying a significantly larger one, such as a 107/111. That way you will feel you have spent your money well.

My 107 dynoed at 102HP/103TQ and has a very flat torque curve, with over 90TQ from around 2,500rpm to over 5,500rpm.
