Default Parts for older bikes

I'm thinking about getting an Evo Softail. Something around a 95 heritage.

How easy is it to get the parts for these older bikes? Although I'm in the uk I figure if they're available in the US I should be able to source them at least.

How do you guys find getting parts?

You'll find less and less from HD, but there are many aftermarket companies that made their living building parts for Evos and still supply them. I wouldn't be afraid to own one.

Since I bought my '95 RK in April 2010, I've replaced a wide array of parts on it without any availability issues. As Stiggy mentioned, if HD doesn't have what you're looking for, the aftermarket will.

Agree, but some manufacturers are better than others. Do your homework before you buy. Quality before price.

I've gotta 94 softail custom, replaced allot of cosmetics. there's parts aplenty just do your research on fit. cross reference different sellers to see if they fit the same thing. I've noticed allot of sights don't list older bikes, just the new models, but the more expensive sights are more informative. I know it sucks to use the quality sight, but hey I want to keep as much of my money as I can.

Thanks guys. I had a feeling it would be down to the aftermarket anyway. My local Harley shop is great if you're happy to own a new bike and pay their extortionate hourly labour rates but if you want anything for a non current model to do the work yourself forget it.

Good to know the old beasts are still supported. It was my primary concern about buying an Evo.

EVO's also have a personality that those electronically challenged bikes don't have.

Getting parts for Evos isn't a problem.

Thats how I feel as well.

Getting parts for an Evo at a stealership is getting tougher, but there are many other sources.
