Default 1987 Heritage Electrical help

I have an 87 heritage softail that I re-wired. I reinstalled the tanks, and turned it over and everything was sounding good, then my battery died from turning it over so much(old battery). I hooked a battery charger to it to try and just get the bike to fire up. While I was turning it over with the charger hooked up, I heard a faint pop noise, not sure where from, and now everything is dead, no lights or anything. I have power where the battery cable hooks to the solenoid, also have power on both post of the 30amp main breaker which has a tan wire that runs to the ignition switch, no power there though. I'm pretty bummed, the bike was a gift that needed some work, and I have never tackled something like this before and thought all was going well, now I have no idea where to begin, any help would be great. Thanks

If power from post but not at ign switch then you most likely fried that wire....could have been trapped under the tank...that is where I would start.

I had the nut loosen off the breaker on the plastic rear iner fender, right by the starter and it did the same thing, no power to the bike. It looked tight, but a little wiggle and the bike powerd up. but if that breaker compleately fails you will have no power. Your bike wireing should be similar to mine, but I don't have my manual handy to confirm.

If in doubt, bridge the contact breaker with a wire to ensure its not stuffed....or hook up an ohms meter and wiggle the posts.
