Breather shims are often not too flash if its a high milege bike but you'll need to measure your old one before ordering and you'll need new pushrod tower O rings too.

I would suggest ordering 2 identical gaskets. Use one (over and over if necessary)while checking your end play clearance, and save the uncrushed one for final assembly.
I think you're gonna like the 27.

Change the lifters while your in there. Heritage is a heavy bike. An EV-13 would be a better choice, that's what I have.

I'd do the nosecone oil seal while it's off and probably the lifters if they have never been done. Many folks switch to a metal breather as well.

Thanks everyone all good points.
Bike is low mileage picked it up last year with only 32K
I think the 27 is the way to go. Bike has been lightened a bit since I got it. See pics on profile.
I had planned on switching out the breather forgot to list

Will I be able to change out these pushrods without taking the rocker boxes off or will I need to quick installs?
What about using a reed valve vs breather gear?

Yep. Change the lifters. I also just used the EV-27 in my '97. This the 2nd one in 72,000. Not much wear but replaced it, the lifters, push rods, etc.

I think you'll like the EV-27, but everyone has their opinions and results.

If you aren't going to take off the rockerboxes you have to cut the old pushrods to remove them and then put in ez-install ones.
