Just an update....eliminating some things as possible causes...
Pulled the heads to look at things.... Heads look fine
Re-decked the pistons and came up about .005 over....had installed a .030 cosmetic on heads, so ordered a set of .040....piston to valve clearance seemed fine, but still
Also ground down some of the webbing under the rocker covers where it looked like the rockers were very close on the open strokes
Examined lifters.....perfect
Evl3020 has been shipped, so will update as mentioned

polished CV carb with 200 main and 50 pilot ("killer" carb from dale)
