Changing the front end
A friend of mine just put a 2010 wide glide front end off of a Road Glide on his '85 FXEF.
I know he has to change the bearings to accept his 3/4" axle so he can use his speedo drive.
My question is does he have to change his lower legs to the ones for a 3/4" axle or can he just clamp the 3/4" axle to the 1" lower legs?

If he has the complete front end with axle, wheel etc...simplest thing to do is get a rear wheel speedo drive...looks better anyway.
