Ignition problem? Will not fire
considering it has to be custom-wired in anyways, is any one particular switch better than another? (ive found VOE switches that active that all different levels, as well as 2 different "stock" type switches)
Get one set to 7mm hg and you will be OK. You can change the settings in them with a vacuum gauge and a volt-ohm meter. One wire from the VOES goes to the ignition module, the other goes to a good ground. That's all there is to it!!!

Hi, I need your help! I’m based in the UK and have fitted a twin tec 1005 kit, bike is a 71 FLH all new electrical system, everything!
Bike starts runs and revs, as the revs drop to tickover ignition cuts, reading he instructions it says for bikes without vos tape up wire, so in desperation I tried grounding vos wire, and I get tickover back, ive had very slow response from Daytona the bike probably only run on he bench 20 times while I have been trying to find out what’s wrong, the other weird thing I’ve noticed is HV sparks jumping from the cylinder head and exhaust to the frame, I initially thought a bad ground to the engine, so ran 2 x 10mm cables from the heads to ground to prove a point, I can still see these 3/4” long sparks and that dosnt make sense, Daytona are suggesting returning the unit for testing, any ideas please as it’s the only thing left to fix before I can ride it! Thanks

At first glance it appears that something is wrong with your spark plugs/spark plug wires. Electrical energy will always take the least resistance to ground. So when your spark is jumping to the head instead of the plug, something is wrong with that component. It also could be coil related as I've no idea where the coil is on a 71 FLH. You also shouldn't ground the vos wire, just follow the directions for your unit . I'm not familiar with that ignition kit, but on most of them if you start mixing where the wire's go, you end up frying the unit.
