I would replace the rings. Make sure you do not have a ridge groove in cylinder. And I also would lightly break the glaze like you see in the cylinder in 3X's attachment. With just two cylinders, you can do it by hand if you like. Have you measured you piston at the proper location (need a book for this) and the cylinder bore at the wear area just down into it a little way (about 1/4") to check for wear?
Just got back from the machine shop. This guy really seems to know his stuff. He took some measurements and determined that I need to go "10 over" with new pistons and rings.

The bore tool had been run through this one or two times.
He also said the vertical grooves are probably the reason I was getting so much oil coming from my air cleaner.
Thought you were doing all the work in your garage. I assume your pictures are the before he is going to bore .010 and then re-hone for the crosshatch. Interesting how they look. Scuffing is normal for an unbuttoned non teflon piston old style piston but the crosshatch in the no wear areas does not look original factory. If that is the cylinders after they have been reworked, they sure have not been rebored .010 over.
