forgot to mention that its really hard to start. choke all the way out twits the throttle a dozen times and she'll fight to come alive and stay alive. i know that sounds like alot of priming but thats what always worked before.

My bike has a SE two bbl and this thread has been very informative. The old man told me to junk the SE and get a cv with a thunder jet kit. I'm not carb savvy at all and my carb has lots of flat spots in it. Low end and if I hammer on it to pass. Kinda scary when you don't know what to expect when you twist the throttl. Im with the op, definitely learning!

If its a CA bike you might wanna change the air cleaner assy too. And also check the timing, CA bikes are timed to 22deg advance and everything else to 35 degrees......look in the manual for the correct timing mark and strobe it....night and day difference!!! If I recall correctly the CA mark is 2 dots and the better mark is 1 dot. We get that here on imported bikes from the USA, If I find a CA one I re-time it.
