Default secret to carb install

Hi guys, I have to do some work on my wifes bike, the 89 Heritage with original Carb and stock breather setup. My bike has the cv carb and is super easy to pull off and install, hers looks to be a real pain. Is there a trick to installing the carb to the intake that you's can pass on to get a goos seal? Bike starts good with enrichener but needs the need replaced as it overflows sometimes when fuel shut off is left on with bike off.
Thanks

Don't mean to hijack this thread... however, I was wondering why the CV carb is so much better, than a Mikuni or other.
Thinking about getting one for my EFI to carb conversion; $295 a pretty good price?

I don't know for a fact if cv carbs are any better but you may notice all harleys up until the efi have cv carbs.
If your going to look into a cv carb for your bike get a hold of Dale for his Killer Carb you won't regret it.

If its got a Keihin butterfly the trick is to get a mirror and some emery and rub the mounting flange down until its properly flat. Then reinstall with new gaskets and some Hylomar and don't over tighten the flange or it will leak.

Patience and attenton to detail is all it takes....gotta love the push-in CV mate!

I'm a believer that float levels don't generally need to be reset unless the float needle has deteriated and in that case just replace the float needle.
