1989 fxr low rider mine hit red line at 101mph until I put in a new ignition and turned up the cut off to 6000 rpm now I can get up to 114 mph. would not hold it at more then 75 mph for any time without a gear change. The rpm @ 75 mph is 3500 rpm.
Are they monitoring this website in hopes to get something to use against us?
I highly doubt it.
Ya your most like'ly right But you never know anymore with those knot heads up in DC ,
Harley dude did you change the gearing or swap trans ? my 94 softie ac & pipes holds 75-80 no prob but sounds like it wants to blow much above that , not sire on RPM's no tack

1993s (softails anyway) have international gearing, runs a 61 rear sprocket. 94-95's have a 70 tooth rear, either the trans or engine sprocket is different also. MOCO changed to a 65 tooth in 96 or 97. I changed my 94 Springer to a 65 tooth rear and she gets around 45 mpg, not sure how fast it will go, had her to 100 last night.
Would love to drop a 6 speed in and see what the 93 would do?
I've had my 93 FLHS up above 100 mph a couple of times. The last time was with the wife on the back. That was beyond stupid.....
In reality, with that big ol' windshield, any speed above 80 takes way too much 'attention' for comfortable riding. Add in the stock Dunlops, and any sort of wind, I'm not enjoying the ride at that speed or above. I normally run the interstates at 70-75 mph, with only the necessare burst above that to get around traffic.
you really start to feel the vibration at 80+mph. But the bike feels very stable. I have an S&S bottom end in my bike and harley top end. I can say that crusin at 80 and twist the throttle and pulls hard. easy and quickly past 100+
