I have a '95 Fatboy which I need to do the timing on.
I have an old in line timing light.....and have no way of checking what speed the engine is revving at.
The manual suggests that the speed should be 1050 - 1500 revs when checking the timing.
Do I assume that this is not critical as long as it is fast enough that the timing has advanced?
Thanks for those comments, however I think I'm going to have to invest in a more modern timing strobe light!
Couldn't see a damned thing through the spy hole with my old in line strobe.
For the time being I've slightly retarded the position of the new sensor compared to the old one......seems to run better.
