Default Cables

Got a 94 fxds dual front disc, and need to replace every cable on the bike. Where's the best place to get all matching cables throttle, idle, front and back brakes, clutch, and speedo for a decent price?
Thanks

Not sure about best price but lots of folks use J&P cycles for braided cables. They also carry stock type ones if you just want plain without the fancy.

First you have to decide which you want.
Cheap or good?

Then go from there.

I generally don't order too much from JP but cables is one I do. They carry a bunch of different ones and nobody has an easier return policy then them...the return lable comes with your order so if it is wrong you just tape up the box, slap the lable on it and send them back...No phone calls or anything...Usually takes me two orders to get all the right cable lengths anyways...LOL

Ok stupid question....do cables have different end and the way they mount on different year bikes? Example I have a 94 fxds with a cv carb and I am looking at some controls and cables from a newer mid 90's dyna?

The cables on those bikes are interchangeable.

Yeah, different years/carbs can be different. Especially the carb end. Not sure when the hand end changed, but they did too.

Why not just buy new from Jireh? They are pretty reasonable. Last sporty clutch cable was from them. Last FLHT clutch cable was NOS OEM from a dealer that was in business before the twinkie.

Yes, your 94 throttle cables will have threaded ends for the grip side, It changed in 96 I think..not sure of that. Just get to ones for your bike and year, nothing hard about it..

goodridge (rich?) are fine for a budget build, they work. The black chromalite from magnum are awesome looking though.
