Default Another unsuccessful attempt...

...on my life.

Chevy Impala driving by some dickweed pulls out in front of me doing 45mph. Now it's 11:30 pm, I've got the headlight burning, I'm wearing a saftey yellow jacket with the reflective silver stripes, and he 'doesn't see me???? Couldn't change lanes, another car off my left, had to 'lock er up' and hope for the best. Luckily I was anticipating this moron pulling out, and he didn't disappoint me.

Sorry about the non-tech rant....

Glad you are okay, albeit angry (as you should be).
It's always an adventure out there on the road.

Glad you are OK, this stuff happens day or night and I often think it happens more on a sunny day because it's easy to miss a bikes light in the glare of the sun, especially with sunglasses on and while texting...LOL

I saw that you locked them up, happened to me last year as well. This might sound wierd but in a way, it's good practice. You can read how to do it safely all you want but when the pucker factor is in play it's nice to know you can truely do it without dropping the bike or getting in some other trouble...congrats.

Glad you're okay! Somebody once said to me to ride like everybody is trying to kill you. This is good advice.

There are only two kinds of riders ... Those that have crashed and those that are going to. Hopefully when you do it's just a "tip over" in the driveway ... Always ride like there is a target on you and you'll greatly reduce the odds

Got a story. I was going down a local 4 lane road, 55mph zone. I was in the left lane, with a pack of traffic behind and on my right doing 60mph. A box truck was making a right turn into a development. He went into the decel lane and started slowing down. He blocked my view of the little red Mustang coming out. The Mustang was turning left to go north, crossing the southbound lanes. I didn't see her, she didn't see me. She popped out, I locked up, tires squealed, and she froze right in my lane. I eased up on the brakes and regained traction, down shifting, doing everything I could to slow down but maintain control. I started pushing to the right to try and get behind her, but I knew I had traffic behind and on the right, so I had no where to go. I'm bearing down on that little red Mustang, about a 1968, little chrome bumper. I knew my left leg was going to get it, and I would fly in front of traffic. I was maybe 30-40 feet from her, and I was preparing for impact. I looked at her, and she looked right at me, and I just shook my head. She just lit up, slammed her accelerator, and both her rear tires put out a little puff of smoke, and I watched that little chrome bumper pass my leg less that a foot away. I shot across to the right and stopped on the should looking into the woods. I was really confused, that wasn't where I was supposed to be. I looked over my shoulder, she was stopped in the median, all traffic in the southbound lanes were stopped. I looked at the girl, and basically asked if everyone was alright back there, and she just waved them off and pointed at me, like are you ok? I looked, and still had my leg, bike was intact, and I looked at her, the path I must have taken across the road, and where she was, and just gave her a thumbs up. I got myself in first gear, glanced over my shoulder preparing to take off, and she was flat back in her seat looking up thanking God I assume. She was late twenties, and I thank her to this day for being so sharp.
Moral of the story, I never give up control of my bike. One guys first comment after telling this story was "shoulda laid it down". Sure, laid it down, @#@#ed up me and my bike. As it turned out, no one got hurt, and we all went our own way. My heart gets going every time I relive that incident. That was about 6 years ago.
