need help with a speedometer. already tried electrical section
This might be a dumb question and has already been answered but i cant find anything on it. I have a 99 fxstc that has been chopped and all redone by a previous owner. That means they did a nice hack job on the wiring :/ they cut the speed sensor plug off but the speed sensor is still in the trans and the aftermarket speedo was never hooked up. It has two pig tsils coming out of the gauge. One for lights i assume and one for the spped sensor. Both have a custer of three wires coming out. Red black and i cant remember the other. Its either green or yellow. Anyone know how to connect this thing so itll work with the speedo sensor? If so can somone post up a wiring diagram i can use? Hopefully a simple color coded one so i dont get confused and fry something lol. I also noticed the neutral switch is also there but no plug but i do have a light. Any help on that would be great too. Id really like to get this all squared away asap if anyone can help that would be awesome thanks a bunch!!!!!
My wiring diagram shows 8 wires to the speedo .
2 wires are unmarked for color they go to the trip reset switch
red - 12v supply to speed sensor
white - sensor output to speedo
black - sensor ground
org/wht - Acc siide of ign. switch
black - speedo ground ( this one should be in the same plug as org/wht wire)
wht/grn - turn signal canceller module
I will try to scan my wire diagram but it can get very confusing if you are not used to them . Feel free to ask any questions via a pm.
