This is insane....
Imold (Post #28) has it right. The politicians love the relatively cheap fixes because it makes it appear that they are doing more for their constituents, but the problem spots need to be done each year, and that doesn't happen.
It would seem that the correct approach would be to repair things using the best techniques that will last a long time, but let's face it the expense is high and we most likely wouldn't see near the number of repairs done that require it.
Winter is tough on our roads and dodging craters is becoming a way of life our way.
The Mag Chloride that they now use around here has me worried, my garage floor is growing salt stalagmites, and it doesn't sweep out when I broom the water out. Probably going to require a good hosing while brooming, that isn't going to happen until spring. Just nasty.
