First of all, I don't apologize... to anybody, for anything, ever. I am not going to get into an internet battle with you about it. I could give 2 s**ts about how heartbroken you are for another man not receiving his due apology.

Second of all, before I post a "new thread" I search the web and forums. A forum post here came up in my search I misunderstood what pinging was because of a vague description of the symptom later discovered to be pinging.

3rd, that wasn't "popping off". I am not going to change my attitude or moderate what I say based on the hypersensitivity of some people. Popping off is something I do when I am in a position to back it up. Being on the internet, I don't.

4th, I told him he had a point which, without being extremely sensitive, is saying "yeah, you're right" which, in my world and on my thread, is good enough.

5th... this isn't a community. Your all great help and if I can help to return the favor, great. But we aren't friends. I don't hope to catch up with old buddys here or make friends with people here that I can run into over and over in different threads. I don't care how many posts you or anybody else have and I don't care how wonderful you think a poster is or how awesome he or she thinks you are. Don't post on my threads and I won't post on yours if you don't like what I say. I follow the guidelines and I keep my language, my ideals and my problems as "PG" as possible as to not offend anybody.

And finally, I know my bike... what he described in his post may be accurate for some but not mine. I know the guys who did my motorwork, one, Hoban Brothers who do the DarkHorse crankwork and who worked with Jim at J&B cycles is known all over the world. You have your reasons for riding and for riding what and how you do. My bike is as important to me as my colors and any distain shown toward my bike is very personal to me. I believe I handled that well. So, please ignore my future posts and don't screw them up any more than I do myself with your verbal diarrhea.

P.S. I am not a mechanic. But I did describe my symptoms... a powerless muffled pop, good burn, dirty carburetor. I also said I am detonating or something similar. It was obviously something not similar but I did my best to describe what was happening and used the wrong terminology due to my own misunderstanding. I looked up "pinging" on youtube. Now I know what pinging sounds like. WOW. Nothing like that muffled pop I described!

Can a moderator lock this thread?

the reason i said he didn't know what he was talking about was that he mentioned the pistons being the cast alloy. If he had read my entire post, he would have seen that i am not running stock pistons. I dont think wiseco makes cast pistons at all but either way, he may be a great wrench but still didn't have it straight.
He assumed i was running the cast pistons, i assumed my motor was detonating, and based on his assumption, I assumed he didn't read my entire post which, if he hadn't, he would know what he was talking about if his response was based on an assumption that was incorrect. I do admit when I am wrong.

No... wrong. A real man admits when he is wrong and rights his wrong, even if by admittance. "Sorry" is reserved for those who have no intention of any further action than the offended forgiving their offense with no effort to make up for it. To me, anybody can say "sorry". I admitted i was wrong and made an attempt to lighten the conversation so it didn't turn into some psuedo macho e-brawl. I told him he had a point when he said "then why dont you ask your mechanic" and also ate my s**t by admitting I was wrong. I don't apologize. Period. I say please, thank you, and i admit when i am wrong and i make up for my f**k ups.

Just chill, nobody cares and reading through the thread again I reckon you probably should apologise because you garbled the message then beat up on Johnjzjz, who may be a cranky bugger at times but he knows his shizzle....if asking advice its best to be clear and concise because Evo riders can't read more than 37 words before their eyes glaze over and they reach for the **** button on their computers.... at one point I was convinced that the thread was only started so you could boast about all the things you had done to your bike...the good info came right at the end of the piece by which time you had got a few people pretty uptight....s'all I gotta say on the subject, you wouldn't be the first person to apologise on here.....
