If you put half the love in the FXR that you gave the V-Rod it'll be a damn fine bike. Are you still planning to finish the RT you bought?

That style may or may not have been very popular out there, but the issue is all the copycat wannabes running around with the idea that they are now as cool as their heroes on the telly.

I have to agree with you. But I've personally been a fan of the style since I first got into bikes, hence why my bikes are set up similar... Not cuz of a TV series that's been out the past few years and will soon be forgotten.

Thanks man! I plan on giving it my all just like I always do! It will be kickass when it's done. The fate of the RT is still up in the air... I'd love to do a full RT setup with the fairing/lowers/bags from Deviant Fabrications. Time will tell...

This is important to know since other things in my life may have me headed in that direction already! Or if I leave her as is will it slow my decent?? Important philosophical dilemma!
You will be fine as long as you don't add an SOA fairing...

And one thing you need to realise is that I am aware of that fact but still think its the gayest thing a "man" can do to a Harley....just my opinion

No problem man. We are all entitled to our own. You might wanna steer clear of the upcoming build thread though, ya know, due to all the gayness...

Oh and you are aware of it but you still refer to a 35-year-old part as something from a 5-year old TV drama. By this logic, aren't you riding an "SOA" bike? Ya know, since they all ride FX's on the show...?

Actually I do have a system i go by, I myself would never cut up/pemanently modify a rare bike and from what i gather fxr's are pretty rare bikes. I'll use this example I knew a person who did a bunch of mods to a 100th anniversary bike all i could think everytime i saw it was why didnt u buy an 04 or an 02 and mod that instead of modding the anniversary edition.

that being said, i don't think bolt on stuff is that bad, but take the original stuff off that you wanna change, even so far as if you want a different paint job, take the stock tins off buy some different tins and paint them and bolt them on and keep the original stuff stored away so you really can put the bike back to original, because especially in the case of rare bikes the original is going to be worth way more than any modded version of it. enjoy your new bike i think it looks great now!
