Default Caliper update question

Thinking of doing a caliper update on my 97 FLH.
Thinking of using newer HD/Brembo units.

What year did HD go to the 4 piston caliper, and are there any specific years that are better or worse.

Thanks

Changed in 2000 and there are no bad or good years.

As Spanners said, '00.. You should also remember, they went Brembo in '09... doing the '00-'08 upgrade will only require lowers. Brembo's will require new rotors too..

No lowers required with adapters.

I've been browsing around this subject and the '09s and later have -00 sliders, so Brembos should fit all '00-on sliders, as long as the larger 300mm rotors are used. So adapters do indeed allow our ole ladies to use Brembos!

That is a fact, and certainly a cheaper option.. Depends on what your after I guess.. I like the factory look, myself.. With your plans, the bracket may very well be your best option Graham..

Brembos were added to the touring line before '09, they were added in '08. Brembos use a slightly larger rotor, up from the previous 11.5" to the 11.8".

This is a great upgrade from the older braking systems. Be sure to include the Brembo master cylinder for maximum performance.
