backpressure does the engine need it?
I'm a newbie and got a 2001 dyna that pops/sputters ect. with help figured out that the baffles have been removed from the factory pipe. So nowit has straight pipes on it. Does th TC88 need a certain amount of backpressure to run properly.Should i try and install replacement baffles Or should I try and change the jets to get it to run better. any ideas are appriciated. Probably running lean. Thanks

OK, I'll explain this one more time. next time look it up. When you have an open pipe, be it straight shots, drag pipes, whatever. You have reversion, reversion is sound waves moving back and forth like a slinky inside the pipe. There is no pressure there to stop the waves from moving and they hamper the scavenging of gases from the engine. install baffles or power cones and you stop the sound waves from moving by breaking up the waves. Understand?

It's not just the TC88. All motors run like $#!+ without baffles. I'd just buy some aftermarket mufflers like Dyno Power or Cycle Shack with all steel baffles.
