Default Wrapping drag pipe baffles in fiberglass?

Is there any advantage, sound level wise, to wrap drag pipe baffles in fiberglass? Both ends of the baffles are almost the same size as the inside dimension of the drag pipe. I would think that the exhaust that gets between the ends would be trapped.
I attached a picture of the baffles:

Fiberglass will lower the sound level a little, but also cancel the higher freqs making for a deeper sounding tone. Used in 2" or larger pipes, the extra back pressure is benefitial especially to Evo motors.

My pipes are1 3/4"and have power cones at the header end. The bike runs great, with out baffles, but I would like to knock the sound level down some. Yesterday I tried the baffles and wrapped Moose muffler packing around them. Theexhaust sounded shitty and the bike acted like the exhaust was too muffled. I pulled the baffles out, took the fiberglass off them and bent most of the tabs of the baffles open more, to free up the exhaust flow. Took it for a test ride today and it performed well, but I would like to quiet it just a bit more. I was hoping someone would reply that wrapping fiberglass around drag pipe baffles was a waste of time.
I might as well wrap the fiberglass on the bafflesand go for another test ride.
On a scale of 1 to 10, if a stock Harley exhaust sound level is a 5 and my setup without any baffles is a 10, I would like to get it down to between a 7 and 8.
Thanks,
Tom

The only other way I know of to adjust the sound just right is with slipon mufflers with adjustable baffles. Your sig shows the WB pipes and I think the turn down tips are removable. If so you could ad slipons with no problem. Baffles in most mufflers are multiple discs that are easily added and removed to give the desired sound or performance. With power cones and 1 3/4" drag pipes you probably are close to max power, any changes will affect that. Good luck, it's always a challenge to tweek things to be just right.

I have the turn down tips off, while I am trying to get the baffles dialed in. The tips slide over the 1 3/4" OD straight portion of the pipes . There is a compression clamp, that goes over the tip and bytightening a nut, clamps the tip tightto the straight pipe.
That is one of my problems. The hole in the straight pipe where you normally would bolta baffle to, is covered by the down tip and clamp, when they are in place. I have the baffles bolted in place now, since the tips are off. If I decide to permanently use these baffles, I will have to have them tack welded to hold them in place. Then I can take out the bolts and slip the tips back on. It seems like nothing goes easy.
I am trying my best, not to have to change exhaust systems. With my luck, if Iput on a new exhaust system, I would never get the bike dialed in to run as good as it does now.
