I have an 09 Fat Bob that I've had for several years. The previous owner took the stock baffles out of the mufflers and installed QQ Thunder Monsters in the header pipes. They have a nice low growl, but it's too loud. I'm trying to determine what my options are to quiet this thing down. There has to be a middle ground between the anemic sound of stock pipes and what I have now.
Here's what I'm trying to determine:
Can I just replace my current baffles in the header pipes with something more suited to what I'm after?
Should baffles be installed in the header pipes, the mufflers, both, is one more preferable than the other, does it matter?
Can I purchase baffles to install in the stock mufflers? I like the look of the stock exhaust on the bike and don't really want to buy new mufflers unless I have to.
