I have a new 2006 Ultra Classic. At outside air temp of about 75-80 degrees, my air temp gauge is reading approx. 90-100 degrees. This is probably normal. But I just wanted to see if I was right or if there might be a prob.
Thanks, sorry for the possibly dumb question.
The temp guage on my Road Glide usually reads pretty much the same as the temp I read at the weather channel for my city before I leave. Maybe a 5 deg difference at most.
The temp gauge is useless on my bike also. Looking to maybe replace it with something else.
I have to agree with that. Who really gives a rats butt what the outside air temp is? I have been looking to replace my gauge with either a oil temp gauge or a cylinder temp gauge but have been unable to locate a matching replacement for my 05 Road Glide.
The temp gauge is just the perfect location to install the oil temp gauge. Fairly easy choice leave the novelty temp gauge or replace it with an oil temp gauge? Wallyscycleworld.com has a kit for under $100 and installs the sender in the oil pan. HD now sells a kit for $130 or so, the sender goes in one of the lines just behind the cam.

I totally agree. Even though my temp is about right, my feet tell me more about the outside temp than the stoopid gauge. Head temp and oil temp are what I want to monitor.

I would be willing to bet a 6 pack that HD part# 75265-04 would fit your bike. The box states 99-up FLHT and FLHR. I figure your air gauge probly looks just like my Ultras. so it would fit. Price was high $130. The sending unit ends up a little ugly the way they put it in the oil line, of coarse the have several HD crome covers to sell you to hide that. Thats what makes the Wallyworld one appealing. Sending unit in the oil tank/trans pan.
I have only seen them with the black rim though. Both have the Harley logo on the face and look factory.

Thanks Rich, I'll see if I can find some. What does the face look like on this gauge? is it the spun aluminum type?
