Red Engine Light Stays On- Ignition Module
#12
Hey M:
Just found this on V Twin forum in answer to another question someone else asked there ( altered slightly to not plagiarize ) "The performance module is a 32719-01a,b or c. C being the latest revision made by Harley, They dropped the Screamin' Eagle logo. The older SE 32719-99 and 32719-01 had some problems, the -01a, b or c are OK. I bought a new unit 32719-01C a year ago from ".....
OK, I know they shut down at 6200 rpm during that period of manufacturing this one did not..ask me how I know : )- but other than that I don't have a clue other than to swap it back out, which I believe I will do today I know another forum member said he just kept running fine with the light on. Me? It distracts from the ride. .I apologize if I am wasting your time but I absolutely love this bike and how it runs now. Very crisp and happy response. The Thunder Torques made a nice difference mid range as I got it with baffles already gone.

OK , I put the old stock module back in and it took the CEL out, so it was the module. I don't know if the 6200 RPM thing triggers a check engine "light of disapproval" or what but the light is off now. I don't think 6200 rpm is too sane anyway on the street (been there done that anyway). Seldom need more than 3500 to smile with this bike. So we may never know why but the module triggered something that never triggered a code.Hmmm. Thanks to marcodarq and Screamin beagle (great name).

Thanks m,
Bet you're idea is best. That way i can adjust the advance if i ever have to again with further mods. i got a reply from a Harley dealership regarding this particular module:I do know that the original module 32719-99 had problems and this part was recalled. Part of the problems reported was the engine light going on....they fixed the problem and The new part number is 32719-01 A ,B and C.
So there you have it. i really appreciate the help sir and the Daytona Twin Tech sounds the best option for sure.Time to ride!
