I just bought a set of 117ci cylinders (kit) from zippers performance. One of the reasons I went with there kit was that it stated in ther add that the liners in there cylnders were .270 thick. 60 % thicker than stock. So when I looked at the thickness of the ones I just bought they did not look .270 thousands thick. So I started doing some calucations. 60% of .270 is .096 thousands... So that must be close to stock liner thickness. I measured my liners and they are only .084...or .085 thousands. Less than a stock liner! So... my question is are the liners on the zippers kit I bought thick enough to run on the 117 motor I am biulding?? Does anyone know the minimum useable liner thickness. Also this kit is ready to go (pistons fited and honed) so no more materal will be removed.
Just need to know the minimum thickness if you know...thanks
2 mil is pretty thin, when i used to roadrace gsxr suzukis .080 after a season the cyl would have waves in it.I don't have a ton of harley experience but i would think anything air-cooled should be min 3 mil-.120

I would imagine the cylinders that you have, with the Zippers script on them, are manufactured at Axtell Sales.
They machine custom script on the cylinders for an additional 40.00/set.
