Default Exhaust Gaskets

My 2005 Road King Custom had the front exhaust come loose. The pipe was still in place but the fastener had both nuts come totally off, which allowed it to slid down the pipe. I noticed the pipes (Rhinehart) were popping. I secured the pipe, but I still have the popping in the pipes. I was told to replace the exhaust gaskets and C-Clips. I get the gaskets, but not the c-clips. Can anyone let me know what I should be looking for regarding these?
Thanks in advance for any help.

The C-clips are the spring tensioned clip that fits around the neck of the pipe that allows the flange to pull the pipe up tight into the exhaust port. You should not need to replace those unless they are missing. Good idea to replace the exhaust gaskets but avoid the fiber gaskets as they can compact and squeeze over into the exhaust port.

There are several metal varieties like Cometic stainless steel "crush" type or the SE stainless stell gaskets shown in the link.

Check the other exhaust flange for fitment as well; if loose or not aligned properly when tiightened, they will leak and cause the popping. Make sure the proper flange nuts are used as well; they normally don't come loose.

Thanks for the reply. Tonight I replaced both gaskets with the copper replacement gaskets. I did some research and I believe the mechanic who completed my 40,000 mile check up pulled the exhaust to check the camshoe and simply forgot to tighten the exhaust back up. Back to the popping, the gaskets seem to have helped, but there is still a small amount of popping left. I guess the next thing is a power commander and new mapping. Once again, thanks for the reply.
