I am going to change my head pipes again as I had an exhaust leak on the rear cylinder where the pipes bolt to the head and decided to change from V&H power duals to V&H dresser duals.
Is there a way of bolting them up avoiding the possibility of an exhaust leak again?
New gaskets would be good, but I'm sure you have that covered. I can only tell you what the Dyna shop manual says. On the front, finger tighten lower nut, then torque the top one 9-18 in lbs. Torque the bottom one to 60-80 in lbs (not sure if yours the same), then torque the top to spec. Repeat for the rear. Do this before you tackle the rest of the system.
I run mine for a couple of miles to heat up, let them cool down and check the torque. When done, I double nut the studs just so they won't back off.

Good advice. Get the SE SS gaskets not the OEM ones and follow the above sequence.
