Anyone use the 348 pistons in a 06? I see that they produce
9.2-1 compression with 85cc domes, this works for my needs, cams need 9.0-9.8-1 comp, Im trying to put my 95" together with the least amount of $$$ i can..
They are a domed piston, if i run a 0.30 HG, will i have valve issues?
I will be doing the labor both ways, as this will be my First harley motor work, im trying to make it as easy on myself as possible....
Take it back, the KB website says they are flat tops, The comp ratio is based off a 84cc dome and 0.30 HG,
It still works for my needs i believe,
It does note that 0.95 must be removed from the bottom oil scraper.... I dont know what that means but im sure someone (way smarter than me) will chime in
Haven't used them but they are hypereutectic; so are the SE cast flat tops. If you visit the website, there is an illustration on the setting of the ring gap for the oil wiper. You will need a ring file to reset the ring gap and it is very easy to **** it up.
Nothing against the KB hyper pistonsand I would use them but only if an OEM option was not availble; I would use the SE cast flat tops first. The new HD ring pack is very good, or so I hear, and you don't have to mess with the oil wiper.
Don't reinvent the wheel; use the SE cast flat tops.
Good enough for me!!! I'll use your prior advice and run with it, I've got a local guy here thats very very good, he will be doing my machine work..... Im going to do the actual work/assymbly. I've never been in a V twin but i have a ton of experience with two strokes, and four stroke dirtbikes...... And i want to really SEE THE INSIDE OF MY MOTOR. Knowledge on how to fix things is a huge factor for me.....
