Default painting exhaust with 02 sensor still on???

Im repainting (Rattle can) my thunderheader, and am on a time limit,so rather then risk causing damage to the o2 sensors,I'M wondering if i just disconnect the wiring as per the manual instructions and tape it up then apply paint? Could this be a problem?

Thanks in advance for any advice....cheers

I don't see a problem. Although I'm not terribly familiar with o2 sensors, i don't see how unscrewing them from the pipe could hurt them as long as the harness is disconnected. But then ya gotta plug the holes with something.

It's my understanding that the sensor its self is delicate, and cause of my time constraint im worried about getting it dirty ect and having problems,as im shipping the bike asap.Figure if i leave it in ,i can't wreck it.
